Tap Tap

Tap Tap modes and grids

In brief

The app offers two modes: Follow, where you tap the colors as they appear, and Memorize, where you replay from memory a sequence shown in full. In both, the grid grows from 4 to 16 tiles as the game goes on.

The four grids

Each grid of n cells carries the first n colors of the app's palette, shuffled. When the grid grows, all the colors change places; in Follow, the current sequence is cleared and starts over from zero, while the score is kept.

GridFollow: fromMemorize: from round
2 × 2 (4 cells)0 points1
2 × 3 (6 cells)2,000 points6
3 × 4 (12 cells)10,000 points11
4 × 4 (16 cells)30,000 points21

One grid of each size, drawn in a Memorize game replayed by the app's engine (Examples page):

2 × 2 (4 cells), round 1.
2 × 3 (6 cells), round 6.
3 × 4 (12 cells), round 11.
4 × 4 (16 cells), round 21.

How long until the grid changes?

In Follow, a player who taps each color as soon as it appears, without ever making a mistake, changes grids at these times (play time, countdown excluded):
